Does your schedule vary so that some weeks you have extra time to write articles, while other weeks slip by? Are there other times when your article is due so it is on schedule, but you are out of ideas?

Unless you are on a strict schedule, there can be times when you just do not have the time or the ideas to write good articles. During the week I keep adding onto the list of ideas for articles.

Then I leave those ideas build until one of them just hits me with enough content to write that article. Once that is done, I will look at the list of ideas to see if any others can be written then.

Writing multiple articles in one day does not mean you have to publish them on your blog that same day. When entering them into your blog, there is an option in WordPress to set the publishing date and time.

The great thing about that is the article will not show up until that date and time arrives. I have tested this several times and found that it works so well, that when I saw a notice in email of an article had been posted, I had forgotten that I wrote it the previous week.

What a relief that was! Just when I was rushing to get the next article done, one showed up on time. So the next time you have the urge to write more than one article at a time, publish one and schedule the others for a future date.

Not only is that a time saver, but the search engines will only see the article on its scheduled date and will stay on its own schedule of indexing your blog.

Plans change, no matter how much you try staying on a schedule. have been in the Freedom Foreclosure Prevention Services corporate office in Arizona for the last 3 weeks. It is so busy here that I have not had time to write you each week as planned.

While waiting to board the plane last night to go home, something went wrong with the airplane. While the problem was not disclosed, the plane was replaced -- with a smaller one.

An announcement was made, asking for volunteers to wait for another flight. Since my luggage was already being put on this plane heading to my intended destination, I had a strange feeling that I was not supposed to get on that plane.

Since my seat was in one of the end rows, I figured that I would be bumped anyway, so I offered to stay. When the plane was full, I counted 16 people who were left behind. Of those, I saw only one other man volunteer to stay. He had a young girl with him that looked like his daughter. It was a bold move for him.

Of those left behind, only 3 free round trip tickets were given out. They went to the other man, his daughter and me. The airline was grateful for those unselfish acts and awarded the volunteers not only the flight tickets, but also a hotel room and a meal voucher for use inside the airport.

Since this was unplanned, all my clothes, toiletries and other necessities are sitting in the Omaha airport, waiting for me to get there and pick them up. So while today will be a challenge without those, the unexpected perk is worth the trouble.

See, while in Arizona at a company Christmas party last week, there were gifts given by the company. They were handed out at random by someone picking numbered tickets from a hat. When the number matched the one someone was holding, that person got the gift.

What a surprise it was when the gift I received was a 3 day, 2 night stay at a resort in Arizona for 2! It was very welcome, since I have been wanting to get my wife out here to let her see the area and help in making a decision to move here. This is where I am spending the Winter, out of the cold and snow, except for holidays.

So with the round trip plane ticket, plus the resort ticket, it all came together as a fr.ee vacation for my wife. That to me is worth spending one more day here. From now on though, I will plan a bit better for the “just in case” situations by keeping a set of clothes and other items in a carry-on bag, ready for the unexpected.

The planning for “just in case” applies to other areas of your life too, including your business and websites. Say for instance that your website has a blog on it and the scheduled article will not be done on time. Do you have a plan for an alternate article that will give you more time to write the one you are working on?

What if you live in a state that gets a lot of snow and one day you are not able to be at the office? What is your backup plan for that?

What if all of the contact information for your prospects is kept stricly on your computer, which one day has a problem starting up? Do you have printed copies or another computer that you can access to keep your business running?

There are many other “what if” situations that you can probably think of. Each one should have a backup plan.

Until next time, work on making those backup plans for the “just in case” situations.

Did you take some time off this weekend? You know that time away from your business is very important to your success. It refreshes your mind, allows it to relax and provides more energy for making decisions.

One of those decisions should be when to start outsourcing part of your work.

According to ANSWERStat.com, outsourcing is the concept of taking internal company functions and paying an outside firm to handle them. Outsourcing is done to save money, improve quality, or free company resources for other activities. Outsourcing was first done in the data-processing industry and has spread to areas, including tele-messaging and call centers. Outsourcing is the wave of the future.

Anyone who has become successful online uses outsourcing to delegate certain functions to others so their time can be focused on being productive in other areas. For example, I outsource as much as possible including major programming tasks, calling sales leads, prospective and current clients, and even website design for projects that require skills I am not proficient in or will take longer to complete than I have time for.

That way I can focus on better and faster customer service, bringing in new business, planning my marketing strategies and interacting with others in discussion forums, writing blog articles, amongst other things that help the business grow, while maintaining current relationships.

Finding quality sources to outsource your functions is not always an easy task. You can go through trial and error to find a good fit for your business. When you find someone though, that time spent trying out others can pay off in a big way.

For smaller projects, look to your network of friends and business associates. You will already have a relationship with them and can tap into their experience, while having already developed trust with them.

After that, look to services that offer bids on jobs through freelance auctions. Some good places to start are:

eLance.com -- Handles areas such as Administrative Support, Creative Writing, Translation, Business Consulting, Business Plans, Marketing Plans, Email Marketing and Audio, Video & Multimedia development.

Rent-A-Coder.com -- this is a site where I can post a project, and people from around the world will bid on it. Usually a great place to find graphics designers.

Guru.com -- Great for finding more upper level (and more expensive) programmers as well as writers.

Workaholics4hire.com -- this company is great place to find people to do support, linking campaigns and more. They charge you an hourly rate to work with someone from their in-house team.

AgentsOfValue.com -- if you want to hire someone long term -- then this is the place to go. How it works is you will hire someone from their company (in the Phillipies) for usually around $2-$5 an hour. You train them how to do what it is you would like them to do, then they work for you 40 hours a week! These guys are the best for things like linking, article writing and article submission.

I hope these resources help give you ideas on how to expand your business and take it to the next level.
